1. Heavenly Night News and Update
Christmas Child
Merry Christmas Friends,

It's a hectic time of year and certainly a different one from this time last year. However in the midst of recession and uncertainty I am overwhelmed by the goodness of people as they continue to make contributions to my Heavenly Night project, which go to help severely damaged girls in Cambodia who have been rescued from one of the worst kinds of evil. What a better way of reaching out to those who truly need hope in their lives.

Thank you so much for your continued interest and support in the cause. May the joy of the season bring you and your own families’ peace and comfort as we celebrate the birth of Jesus this Christmas.

Peace and love,
Kelita

2. Heavenly Night Calgary Benefit Concert Raises $35,000

Heavenly Night Concert PicturesA few weeks ago on November 29, the Heavenly Night concert in Calgary raised $35,000 for the girls at Agape Restoration Centre in Cambodia. Central United Church were amazing partners. They were the host and sponsor church for the packed out event. They totally jumped on board getting behind the cause and worked for months with me on making this a very successful concert. SHINE FM played a large role in promoting the concert to Calgarians and A1 Printing met all our promotional printing needs. People who volunteered went above and beyond to give of their time and services.

Calgary’s own Juno award winning accapella group The Heebee-jeebees opened up the night bringing down the house with their special brand of music and humour. Darrel Janz, CTV Calgary News anchor man played host for the night and Brian McConaghy, of the Ratanak Foundation made a powerful presentation that truly impacted all who attended.

I was privileged to play with some of Calgary’s best musicians in the beautiful century old church which was the perfect backdrop for a Christmas concert.

One unexpected highlight was Anika, a cute little girl at the concert who had brought all her allowance she had earned this year in a baby bottle to donate to the “girls who were hurt”. I had heard about her earlier in the day so thought it would be a special moment to bring her up on the stage. And indeed it was a very special moment.

Thank you Calgary!! I knew you’d come through.

***A special Thank You to Vanessa from Shutterfly Images for offering her amazing services in taking photos at the Heavenly Night concert in Calgary. Thanks Vanessa!

3. Other Concerts Raise Awareness and Funds for Heavenly Night

Heavenly Night Christmas CD - Get your copy today!Back in October I did a concert in Ft Langley BC with a very supportive group of women lending a hand to the Heavenly Night cause. Together we raised $8,500 in a Sunday afternoon. Last week in Jarvis Ontario, a small village outside of Hamilton, Coffee Break women’s group helped to raise $3,000 at a Christmas concert I played there.

If you or a group/organization that you know of would be interested in hosting a concert that would benefit the “Heavenly Night” cause then please email me. It does not have to be a Christmas event as was proved when I did the concert in Ft. Langley back in October. You can make a difference!

4. PLEASE MAKE A DONATION TO HEAVENLY NIGHT

As we reach the final days before Christmas and the end of the year, I would urge you to make a tax receipt able donation online at www.heavenlynight.org. 100% of all the money you donate will go directly to helping out the girls at Agape Restoration Centre. The centre’s main supporters are from the USA and so the centre has been experiencing the effects of the recession. Please let’s help them through this difficult period of time.

If you’d prefer to send a cheque please make it out to Heavenly Night and mail it to:

5. Email from Bridget in Cambodia who runs ARC with her husband Don.
Girls Smiling
We have two new girls, one a pastor’s daughter. She so lovely like they all are. Even our Christian families are not safe from this hideous evil.....another reason to keep on our knees. The girls are always amazed at the love and generosity of strangers. They can’t believe that people they don’t know care enough to send money to pay for their care and needs. They don’t get this kind of love from their own families, so they are truly so amazed at this.

Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support for God’s people here. Much love and prayers for strength, protection and provision for you and yours.

Bridget
